Josh's practice at BA Folk focuses on administrative, construction, and contract law. He also assists clients with residential real estate closings.

Josh has a unique and diverse legal background that has been accented by his extensive experience in the political arena. He has served in various capacities on campaigns at all levels from local and statewide to presidential. He also has experience in public affairs, managing grassroots coalition development and drafting strategic communication plans for issue advocacy campaigns.

Josh’s legal experience includes work at a boutique criminal defense and personal injury firm in Raleigh. Josh worked primarily on traffic and misdemeanor matters. However, he also assisted in case preparation, sorting discovery and providing legal research on several court-appointed murder cases. Josh also has experience working in campaign finance and has consulted clients on regulatory and lobbying compliance matters.

Josh is also currently the Director of Government Relations at C.S. Hollis & Associates where he represents clients on a wide variety of interests before state Legislative and Executive branches. He frequently is meeting with legislative officials and staff to educate them on the weaknesses or merits of specific bills to influence passage, defeat, or amendment, or the introduction of legislation more favorable to client interests.  Further, he monitors legislative activity/state legislative committees to identify potential legislation of interest.

Josh brings a unique background and view point to his law practice, melding his legislative experience and years of navigating state and local bureaucracy with his legal knowledge to provide his clients with a multifaceted advocacy approach

Outside the Firm 

When Josh is not practicing law or lobbying, he enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with his wife Julia. Josh also enjoys fishing, is an avid runner, and likes reading books on political history.
